Chance Encounter presents a dramatic narrative composed entirely of digital photographs and onomatopoeic sound words, scrupulously copied from contemporary comic books. The setting is an old derelict shed – the artist’s studio – which has been documented mainly through a series of close-up shots of wall, ceiling, and floor surfaces. The unfolding narrative is driven by an increasingly confrontational and violent exchange between two unseen protagonists, articulated through utterances, exclamations, and noises from an assortment of deadly weaponry. Like much of the artist’s work, this book explores the imaginary potential of everyday settings and objects..
